Just this past October Hyundai announced plans to (once again) put a minivan in its expanding line-up. In the wake of SUVs and crossovers, the "Entourage" has been an on-again / off-again product for the planners - but now they're moving full-speed ahead with the 2007 model.
Hyundai's Entourage will arrive in mid-2006, with initial sales expected to be in the 27,000 annual range in the USA. Built by Kia, this clone of the Sedona will share the platform of the upcoming Hyundai Sonata. The Entourage will be available only in the long wheel-base version, the size of a Dodge Grand Caravan.
Powered by a 3.8-liter V6, the Entourage comes standard with power sliding doors and will likely be a leader in the safety arena with six airbags, ABS, EBD, stability and traction control, and triple-zone air conditioning! Besides targeting Chrysler, Hyundai is after the market share of Honda and Toyota buyers as well.
