As promised, the 2015 New York Auto Show marked the global debut of the all-new Cadillac CT6 prestige sedan, set to take on German stalwarts like the BMW 7 Series while being lighter than a 5 Series. In fact, it becomes one of the lightest and most agile full-size luxury performance sedans in the world.
Buyers will have the choice of a 2.0L inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine and a revised 3.6L V6, each mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission.
Inside, there's a large, 10.2” CUE interface screen with 1280x720 HD resolution and a console-mounted touchpad, OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot, and a Bose Panaray audio system featuring 34 strategically placed speakers.
Rear passengers in the CT6 will get to relax immensely thanks to an all-new Articulating Rear Seat package with approximately 83mm of adjustable seat travel, lumbar adjustment, tilting cushions, massage feature, heating/cooling features, and armrest with media controls. Let's not forget the comprehensive rear-seat infotainment system with articulating 10” screens that retract into the front seatbacks.
The 2016 Cadillac CT6 will enter production at the Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant at the end of 2015 for the North American market and in early 2016 for Europe, Korea, Japan, Israel, and the Middle East. Chinese-market models will be assembled at an all-new facility in China starting in early 2016.
Pricing for the CT6 will be announced at a later date.
