Deliveries of the new 2009 Nissan GT-R to Canadian customers started in July and, since then, the automaker has been multiplying opportunities to showcase this outstanding supercar -- affectionately nicknamed Godzilla -- to rabid Canadian enthusiasts.

On July 24, Stanislaus Gonsalves of Oakville, Ontario, was the first customer to drive away in a new 2009 Nissan GT-R, which he ordered one year earlier. On the photo, Alta Nissan dealer principal Joe Zanchin (l.) presents Mr. Gonsalves with keys to his very own GT-R at a special reception.

On July 24, Nissan Canada handed to a lucky Southern Ontario customer the keys to the very first GT-R in Canada. Stanislaus Gonsalves, from Oakville, got to take his GT-R home before everybody else. He ordered it way back in July of last year.

The delivery of this Obsidian Black GT-R took place during a special event set up by Edward Wong and Joe Zanchin, managers of Alta Nissan in Oakville, and Jeff Parent, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at Nissan Canada.

"The GT-R has generated unprecedented demand and the interest of consumers is such that we've already sold every unit to be delivered this year," said Mr. Parent.

And the runner-up is...
On August 7, a second GT-R was delivered to a customer from Montreal (who wishes to remain anonymous). He took possession of his Gun Metallic model at Spinelli Nissan, in Pointe-Claire, in front of a small throng of guests.

For this unique event, said customer (let's call him Jack) was surrounded by Ronald Spinelli and Joe Hayem, General Manager and New Car Sales Manager at Spinelli Nissan, respectively. Also on hand was Jean-Luc Lemire, Quebec Regional Sales Operations Manager at Nissan Canada. Mr. Jack, who currently owns an Audi RS6, placed his order about 18 months ago!

A similar event is scheduled for Vancouver, but the date and location have yet to be confirmed.

On August 6, Spinelli Nissan of Pointe-Claire, in the Greater Montreal, invited the Greater Montreal consumers to attend the unveiling of the first GT-R delivered to a Quebec buyer.
