Styled after the exciting Verve concept, Ford's new Fiesta promises fantastic economy and fun-to-drive characteristics once again. The compact model will be available in three and five-door twins, both of which are being shown at the Geneva Motor Show.

Ford says that both configurations are equally popular with European drivers- so stylists haven't compromised the kinetic design language on either model. In effect, the five door looks just as sporty as its three-door counterpart.

Ford says the loveable Fiesta is their best-selling small car, having sold over 12 million copies since it was introduced back in 1976. The American-based automaker is excited for the newest chapter in the Fiesta's storybook.

"This new car embodies the very essence of Fiesta - fun, vitality and emotion," said John Fleming, President and CEO of Ford of Europe. "We know there isn't a better name for the new model, and we have over thirty years of investment in the Fiesta brand to consider."

European production begins this fall, and further details will be announced closer to the on sale date. Though nothings finalized at this point, a similar model should be available to Canadians by the end of the decade.
