Customers in British Columbia who want to acquire a new Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) will be happy to learn that it is eligible for the Clean Energy Vehicle Program recently introduced by the provincial government.

What this means is that the monthly lease price is reduced from $599 to $529 and the $3,600 down payment is eliminated.

“This is another step in the right direction. Hyundai was the first automotive company to launch a fuel cell vehicle in Canada, and we committed to being a leader in the field. It’s incredibly gratifying to see this type of government support enter the marketplace,” said Don Romano President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada. “The BC government has taken action to make green vehicles even more attractive to consumers, and this is a great boost for Hyundai’s fuel cell program. Now we must continue to work towards the creation of a nation-wide hydrogen refuelling infrastructure to maintain this positive momentum."

In Canada, the Hyundai Tucson FCEV is currently available to customers in the greater Vancouver area through a 36-month lease which includes scheduled maintenance, roadside assistance, valet service, and unlimited hydrogen refuelling.
