The Seattle Police Department can now count on 28 Nissan LEAF cars to patrol the streets of the city. They obviously won't chase down criminals, but rather intercept traffic law offenders.
Some of these LEAFs can be seen on Nissan Electric's Twitter account and on the Green Car Reports website.
Seattle is not the only city in the world to use electric cars to bolster its police fleet, mind you. The Nissan LEAF has been serving duty in Portugal since 2012, while the Mitsubishi i-MiEV does the same in Hong Kong, Japan, Spain, and the U.K.
