The move towards more fuel-efficient powertrains is affecting everyone. Luxurious high-end brands are feeling the same crunch and Bentley has decided to do its part by offering a V8 engine in its very popular Continental for the first time.
As you would expect, the Conti V8 is no slouch. With a pair of turbos, the 4.0L engine develops no less than 500 hp. Fuel consumption is good at 11.2L /100 km given the available power. The 2012 Bentley Continental GT V8 reaches 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 301 km/h.
