Fuel efficiency in the base Cooper Convertible is a combined 7.5L/100km. If you opt for the Cooper S or John Cooper Works variants, you’ll see the same combined fuel economy numbers of 8.1L/100km (both with manual transmission).
Powertrain: There are two engines available across the three models. In the base MINI Cooper Cabriolet you’ll find a 4-cylinder naturally aspirated mill that’s good for 121 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. In the Cooper S Cabriolet and the John Cooper Works models the same 4-cyl twin-scroll turbo engine resides. In the Cooper S it pushes out 181 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. Remapped in the JCW model, that same engine produces 208 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque.
Transmission choices reside in a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. Power is sent to the front wheels in all models.
Changes and Improvements: The MINI Cooper Cabriolet has yet to see the design and engine upgrades and changes as the 3- and 5-door Coopers, so no major changes have been made for the 2015 Cooper Cabriolet.
