The all-new 2017 Ford GT supercar, which claimed the GTE Pro class victory at Le Mans earlier this year, entered production at the new, low-volume Multimatic assembly facility in Markham, Ontario last Friday. This means Ford Performance’s long-awaited halo model is about to be delivered to its first customers around the world.
“When we kicked off 2016, we had two primary objectives for our Ford GT supercar: to excel at Le Mans and to start deliveries before year-end,” said Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president, global product development, and chief technical officer. “We’ve achieved both.”
Since a picture is worth a thousand words, we think it’s best to leave you with these two videos, one commemorating the success of the new Ford GT at Le Mans in June 2016, and the other a recap of the Ford GT Job 1 ceremony.
