The fastest MINI ever produced, the John Cooper Works GP, covered the gruelling 20.83-kilometre long Nürburgring Nordschleife in 8min23s – 19 seconds faster that the older MINI Cooper S, back in 2006 –.
Bare in mind, the all-time record set by Stefan Bellof, in 1983 aboard a Porsche 956, is 6min11s.
In fact, the John Cooper Works MINI actually looks quite like a racing car.
On the inside, no more back seats – just two at the front for the driver and a passenger –. On the outside, a more aerodynamic body, high performance tires and new, more efficient, brakes. Under the hood, a turbocharged 1.6L mill which is said to produce 230 horsepower.
The latest John Cooper Works GP version of the MINI was unveiled in front of the public last weekend, during the Festival MINI United, held at Le Castellet, in the south of France.
Those interested will have to hurry – only 2,000 units will be made –.
