For the 2009 model year, the Toyota Tacoma midsize pickup truck will benefit from a series of upgrades.
The most significant one is the addition of a new 4-cylinder 4x4 Access Cab model (with 5-speed manual transmission). In the past, 4x4 Tacomas were exclusively powered by a V6 engine. This new model will become an interesting alternative for those after a more fuel-efficient 4WD pickup truck. Pricing is set at $24,855.
All 2009 models get additional standard features, such as active head restraints, traction and stability control, LED taillights, an upgraded audio system, side and side-curtain airbags as well as composite cargo box cladding.
In addition to the upgraded standard equipment, Toyota slightly lowered prices across the lineup. The Tacoma 4x2 Access Cab starts at $20,215, while the Tacoma 4x4 4-cylinder Access Cab retails for $24,855. The Tacoma V6 Access Cab starts at $27,240 and the X-Runner model carries a base price of $29,775. Finally, the Tacoma 4x4 V6 Double Cab starts at $30,700.
