2010 Audi S5 Review The German Muscle Car!

By ,

Life is short, too short. Some of us realize this fact and act upon it. Some may choose to live a cozy life unburdened by material possessions while others, perhaps those that have a few more $$ in their accounts, may choose to live it up and amass large quantities of goods. Like most, I tend to collect articles that bring me a tangible level of joy. This joy complements what is nearest and dearest to me; my family including my wife and cats, Molly and Jigg.

This may sound somewhat superficial but be honest with yourself. Go ahead and try and tell me that your car, drum set, baseball card collection or your Weber BBQ don't bring you some form of happiness. As with most North Americans, the car, truck or whatever motorized mode of transportation is usually a most prized possession. Car manufacturers know this and most do their darnedest to entice you to be a proud owner of one of their products.

Right now, at this moment, Audi holds the title of one of the most desirable brands with cars like the R8 , R8 Spyder and the subject of this review, the S5. This coupé easily slots itself as the second-hottest car in the Ingolstadt-based brand's line-up, behind, of course, the aforementioned R8.

Why?
If you have to ask, it's because you haven't seen one on the road. This car is a perfect blend of Americana muscle-car era pop-culture and refined, elegant German engineering and know-how. The S5 (all A5s) have perfectly balanced proportions, an in-your-face front fascia and generous and enticing beltline. The only way to make an A5 look sharper is by selecting the S-Line package as it adds wheels, aero bits and a whole lot of class.

The seductive body's got your juices flowing, so you know you'd love to park this baby in your driveway. Audi's got you hooked. Step inside and the good times keep on rolling. The S5 sports special front buckets designed to cajole and hold you in place while you put the car through its paces. And they do.
