Fortune magazine has published its annual list of the World’s Most Admired Companies Top 50 All-Stars and two automakers rank among them: Toyota (28th) and BMW (18th).
After those, the most admired car manufacturers are, in order, Daimler, Hyundai, Honda, General Motors, Volkswagen, and Nissan.
The first and second positions are occupied by Apple and Google, tech giants that are currently working to develop their own automobiles.
To arrive at the top 50 Most Admired Companies, Fortune magazine, via its survey partners Korn Ferry Hay Group, asked 4,000 executives, directors, and securities analysts to select the 10 companies they admired most. They chose from a list made up of the companies that ranked in the top 25% in last year’s surveys, plus those that finished in the top 20% of their industry.
