Privateer Sunred will become a semi-works Seat team in 2010 WTCC series. The team will receive technical support of the Spanish car manufacturer, and may run a Seat Leon Tdi for reigning World Touring Car Championship’s champion Gabriele Tarquini.
Sunred has already confirmed drivers Tom Coronel and Michel Nykjaer, and could run two additional Leos for Tarquini, but also for Tiago Monteiro, a former Seat Sport driver.
Seat officially withdrew from the WTCC at the end of the 2009 season, after five years in the series and two drivers’ titles (Yvan Muller in 2008 and Tarquini in 2009), and two constructors’ titles (2008 and 2009).
