Specialty Vehicle Engineering of Toms River, New Jersey is introducing the Yenko 2017 Chevy Camaro and plans to build 50 units, Motor Authority reports.
Just like the Yenko 2017 Corvette Grand Sport that debuted at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona earlier this month, it boasts a supercharged V8 rated at 800 horsepower and 750 lb-ft of torque. Displacement is 6.8 litres instead of the standard 6.2 litres due to a stroker kit, while more robust components (crankshaft, H-beam rods, pistons) and a Corvette Z06-derived fuel system and injectors complete the upgrades under the hood. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic.
The Yenko 2017 Camaro is based on a Camaro SS and also comes with Magnetic Ride Control suspension, powerful Brembo brakes, and differential cooling systems. Aesthetically, it adds custom badges and decals, plus some beefy 20”x10” heritage-style wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. Inside, a leather package and custom door sills and floor mats are available.
By the way, SVE acquired the Yenko name rights from General Marketing Capital Incorporated, so this model has nothing to do with the famous muscle cars from Yenko Chevrolet of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
How do you think it would fare against the upcoming 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon ?
