The Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on May 22nd, 2015, will feature the very first public appearance of the all-new BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage. As the name suggests, this car pays tribute to the iconic BMW 3.0 CSL of the 1970s. A picture showing the rear left corner serves as a teaser until the official unveiling.
Launched in 1971, the BMW 3.0 CSL housed a 3.0L inline 6-cylinder engine whose output ranged from 180-206 horsepower. The Hommage version to be presented in Villa d’Este a few days from now sports flared wheel arches and ribbon-style taillights which blend into the massive rear spoiler. BMW says it made extensive use of carbon fibre to make the 3.0 CSL Hommage as lightweight as possible.
There are no specifications available at this point, however. Given the muscular exterior of the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage, it's safe to expect a formidable engine to take place under the hood.
