The new, second-generation 2016 BMW X1 xDrive28i, which will go on sale in North America near the end of this year, will be the only X1 model available whereas European customers will have many to choose from.
The first generation of the BMW X1 has sold over 730,000 units around the world and more success is expected in future years as consumers turn to smaller vehicles.
Offering a roomier interior, increased fuel economy, and more technologies than before, the 2016 BMW X1 xDrive28i also promises to be sportier and more fun to drive than the outgoing X1. A new 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine, producing 228 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, will be mated to an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.
The versatile cabin of the 2016 BMW X1 xDrive28i is more generous in terms of passenger and cargo room. Buyers can select a Technology Package with navigation, 8.8” touchscreen, and head-up display, or a Driver Assistance Plus Package featuring various camera-based safety systems.
Pricing for the 2016 BMW X1 xDrive28i will be announced closer to its release date.
