New Model to Cruise into Showrooms This Fall
Chrysler PT Cruiser customers impressed with the new PT Turbo's added power will be equally impressed with the price. Chrysler announced pricing today for the 2003 Chrysler PT Turbo, which will feature a base Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $22,290 (US). The new 2003 Chrysler PT Turbo will arrive in North American Chrysler dealerships this fall.
Based on the Touring Edition of the 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser, the PT Turbo model features a High Output, turbocharged 2.4-liter engine that creates 215 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 245 lb.-ft. of torque at 3600 rpm, with more than 90 percent of peak torque from 2300 to 5000 rpm.
"We now offer a variety of Chrysler PT Cruiser models ranging from $16,600 to $26,000, with the new PT Turbo fitting in nicely as yet another affordable vehicle in the lineup," said Tom Marinelli, Vice President-Chrysler Marketing. "For just over $22,000, performance-minded customers may own the quickest model in the PT Cruiser garage, with all of the same hallmark versatility and customization appeal that PT Cruiser is known for."
The PT Turbo marks the sixth factory-customized version of the segment-busting vehicle announced by the Chrysler Group. The PT Turbo joins the Flames, Woodie, Dream Cruiser Series 1 and Chrome Accents models, as well as the PT Cruiser Convertible, which goes on sale in early 2004.
