General Motors announced that the all-new 2012 Buick Verano premium compact sedan will be unveiled at next week's North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The Verano goes on sale in the fourth quarter of 2011 as the latest model in Buick's product renaissance. The car is distinguished by luxury and technology.
A 2.4-litre Ecotec engine and six-speed automatic transmission will make up the powertrain and deliver an estimated 177 horsepower along with 170 lb-ft of torque. Accelerations from 0 to 60 mi/h (96 km/h) are clocked at 8.0 seconds, while highway mileage is rated at an estimated 31 mpg (7.59 L/100 km). A 2.0-litre turbocharged engine will be offered in the future as well.
In addition to 10 standard airbags, the all-new Buick Verano will be available with such upscale features as a heated steering wheel, soft-touch materials, premium leather, ABS brakes plus traction and stability control.
Customers can also expect a Bluetooth-enabled Bose sound system with touchscreen, USB and auxiliary input jacks. Naturally, OnStar assistance will be part of the mix, too.
Finally, Buick's Quiet Tuning technology endows the Verano with laminated glass, triple-sealed doors and 17-inch aluminum wheels designed in a unique way to enhance interior quietness.
