Ford today unveiled the all-new GT supercar at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, combining top EcoBoost performance (more than 600 horsepower), aerodynamics and lightweight carbon fibre construction. It will enter production in 2016 and later go on sale as a limited model, at a price that's anyone's guess.
The GT is one of a dozen new Ford Performance vehicles coming by 2020 to play alongside the Focus RS, F-150 Raptor, Shelby GT350, and Shelby GT350R. It will hit the road in select global markets to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ford GT race cars placing 1-2-3 at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The new Ford GT makes extensive use of lightweight materials, including carbon fibre and aluminum – enabling outstanding acceleration and handling with improved efficiency. In fact, the GT will exhibit one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any production car.
Are you going to be one of the lucky few owners?
