Fast Company magazine presented its list of the 50 most innovative companies of 2014. Two car brands managed to crack the top 20 including Dodge (11th) and Tesla (20th).
The editors highlighted the former's marketing coup featuring Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy character from the Anchorman movies. As a result, Dodge Durango sales increased 59% in the U.S. last October alone.
Meanwhile, Tesla is fresh from its best year ever with record sales, industry and mainstream recognition, extensive roll-out of Supercharger stations, etc. In fact, sales of the Model S were 20% higher than expected, and in the first nine months of 2013, the company more than tripled its 2012 revenue.
