Daniel Juncadella took benefit of the numerous race incidents to take an unexpected win in the Macau Grand Prix.

Marco Wittmann, the winner of the qualifying race, maintained his lead in the first laps. But the young german driver had a bad restart after a safety car period following Felix Rosenqvist’s accident. Wittmann was overtaken by both Daniel Juncadella and Felipe Nasr.

Roberto Merhi, who took third place on Saturday’s race, was already out of the race. He stalled on the grid before getting hit by another car.

Juncadella, who had a very good start, emerged in the lead, and he maintained his position despite Nasr’s pressure. The race finished under safety car after Kevin Magnussen’s huge accident. Juncadella, 2011 F3 Euroseries runner-up, took victory in Macau Grand Prix, following Edoardo Mortara’s wins in 2009 and 2010.
