Chevrolet will reveal its all-new compact sedan, the Cruze, at the Mondial de l'automobile de Paris this October. To whet our appetites, General Motors released three pictures of the newcomer this morning.
At first glance, the Cruze stands out from the other Chevrolet models thanks to its original design. Its style reflects a new design language that will infuse the entire Chevrolet lineup.
In front, a prominent grille and headlights stretching all the way to the fenders give the Cruze some attitude. With its swooping roof, it looks more like a four-door coupe than a sedan.
Unfortunately, General Motors hasn't offered any interior photos. They have, however, promised that quality materials will be used and that the finish will be beyond reproach.
The European version of the Cruze will be powered by one of three engines: a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder producing 112 hp, a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder putting out 140 hp and a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo diesel engine producing 150 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. They will be coupled with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic one.
The Cruze will hit European dealerships in March 2009. Chevrolet will then commercialize the vehicle in the various global markets.
