BMW's MINI division is set to begin evaluation of a new electric car. Hundreds of these small, retro-looking machines are currently being prepared for testing. When ready, they will be shipped to California where a series of intensive road tests will be performed.
With this project, MINI wants to develop a small car that runs exclusively on electric power while offering the same driving qualities the brand is famous for. The tests will aim to fine-tune various in-car technologies over a 12-18 month period.
