Aston Martin Racing will switch to its last year’s Lola-Aston Martin Coupé for the last three rounds of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.

The new Aston Martin Racing’s open LMP1 prototype, launched at the beginning of the season, suffered from numerous reliability issues as well as an overall lack of performance.

After very difficult debut at Le Castellet and the test days at Le Mans, the team decided to skip the Spa 1000 km event in order to solve the issues.

During the 24 Hours of Le Mans, both AMR One cars entered by the team were forced into retirement during the first minutes of the event, after they struggled in qualifying.

Aston Martin Racing, which also missed the ILMC race at Imola in July, will be back on track for the ILMC round at Silverstone, with an « old » Lola Aston Martin Coupé driven by Adrian Fernandez and Harold Primat.

They will also run the remaining ILMC races of the season at Road Atlanta, Zhuhai, but also the ALMS race in Laguna Seca.
