Kurt Busch, a last-minute substitute for the recovering Brad Keselowski, grabbed the pole for the Nationwide Series race beating his younger brother, Kyle Busch, by 15 hundredths of a second.
The elder Busch, who drove a Dodge Charger, said: “This is a fun race and a great opportunity. It’s a testament to Penske Racing, Brad and Paul (his crew chief).”
Carl Edwards was third fastest in a Ford Mustang. Elliott Sadler, the fastest full-time Nationwide Series' driver, will start from fourth in the KHI-owned Chevrolet.
The third row inside starter will be Ontario’s Ron Fellows in a JR Motorsports Chevrolet while Jimmie Johnson, making a rare start in this series, was sixth fastest in another JRM car.
Series points leader, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. goes off in 12th.
Canadian driver Andrew Ranger (Roxton Pond, Quebec) will start 20th alongside countryman J.R. Fitzgerald, in 21rst, and Britain’s Dan Clarke, making his NASCAR debut from 38th position.
