Looks like Scott Speed will be changing his energy drink.

The American driver attempted Formula One with Toro Roso in 2006 and 2007 then moved over to the Red Bull Racing Team in NASCAR.

Racing in ARCA he had four wins and finished fifth in 2008, but his transition to stock car racing’s top division was challenging.

This year he finished 30th in the points, and with the return of Brian Vickers and the hiring of Kasey Kahne the team will only continue as a two-car Toyota effort in 2011.

Scott Speed became the odd man out.

On Wednesday he tweeted “today should be the day my lawyer files this lawsuit against Red Bull...Had to tell my loyal twitter followers before they saw it online."

He told the NASCAR website SceneDaily that he was upset in the manner of his sacking. He said that he received notice by fax.

Speed also said that he had a contract extension with TBR which ran through 2011, hence his first tweet.

Also the timing couldn’t be worse, professionally, as most top teams are set for next year.

As he wrote on twitter “sure not easy to find something when u start looking in December but we workin on it! Ill keep ya posted ;) sure we will find something.”
