Today, we finally got the confirmation that the mysterious Scion concept to be displayed at the New York International Auto Show is the FR-S, basically a near-carbon copy of the Toyota FT-86 II introduced earlier this year in Geneva.
Powered by a Subaru-sourced, 2.0-litre boxer engine featuring direct injection, this rear-wheel drive sports car uses a limited-slip differential and a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The latter comes with paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
Inspired from the Toyota 2000GT, with sleek yet aggressive lines, 20-inch wheels, 18-inch brake discs and a vivid red body that evokes passion and performance, the FR-S Concept continues to turn plenty of heads.
