The next-generation 2016 Nissan Titan made its national debut at the Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) in Toronto yesterday.
The first of the new Titan models, the 2016 Titan XD Crew Cab, is projected to go on sale at Nissan dealers across Canada in late 2015. It is powered by a new Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel engine rated at 310 horsepower and a hefty 555 lb-ft of torque.
The new 2016 Titan will also be offered in additional cab, bed, powertrain and model configurations. Along with the Titan Crew Cab shown in Toronto, expect King Cab and standard cab versions and with a 4x4 drivetrain. Future engine options will include a new gasoline V8 and an advanced gasoline V6.
Meanwhile, the Nissan BladeGlider Concept offers a bold vision for the future of the brand in the electric vehicle segment, which currently includes the LEAF hatchback and the ZEOD race car. It features a radical front narrow track layout, where the front is significantly narrower than the rear, creating a swept-wing profile when seen from directly above.
"As gas prices fluctuate in Canada and around the world, Nissan remains totally committed to investing in the electric vehicle side of its business. The BladeGlider concept is a fearless glimpse into Nissan's future as we continue to push the boundaries in emission-free driving," said Christian Meunier, president of Nissan Canada Inc.
