Volkswagen Canada is showing that compromises are not necessary when choosing to buy a green car. Case in point: the new 2009 low-emission TDI Clean Diesel Jetta Sedan and Jetta Wagon are high on performance, style, functionality and value.
The TDI Clean Diesel engine is designed to run on today's low-sulphur diesel which allows great fuel economy and reduced emissions for each kilometer travelled. The engine can also run on B5 biodiesel, an even "cleaner" fuel.
The TDI (turbo diesel injection) already has created a loyal fan base thanks to over 30 years of TDI leadership in Canada. TDI loyalists are drawn to its tremendous torque characteristics, which translates into more grunt and low engine speeds. As it turns out, the new TDI Clean Diesel engine offers even more. Indeed, being green has never been so "gutsy".
Volkswagen's vision is to ensure unrestrained mobility for future generations through economically and ecologically sustainable solutions. As one of the largest car manufacturers in the world, Volkswagen takes responsibility for developing cars that are ecologically sound.
At the core of this innovation is the development of highly-efficient drivetrains and the exploration of alternative fuels from various energy sources and, in particular, CO2-neutral biomass. This will help VW ensure proactive climate protection and conserve limited resources.
