Tony Kanaan passed Andretti Green Racing teammate Marco Andretti in Turn 4 of Lap 179 and beat IndyCar Series points leader Sam Hornish Jr. to the finish line by 1.8276 seconds in the ABC Supply Co./AJ Foyt 225 at The Milwaukee Mile. After parking the green and white No. 11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone in Victory Circle, Kanaan was overjoyed with his first victory since last August at Infineon Raceway. It was a double-victory weekend for the team as Jaime Camara won the Indy Pro Series race a day earlier. "I was happier today than I was at the end of 2004," said Kanaan, the series champion two years ago. "We needed that so bad." IndyCar Series Knapsack. Marlboro Team Penske and Target Chip Ganassi Racing cars had won the previous nine races (three each by Hornish and Helio Castroneves, two by Scott Dixon and one by reigning series champion Dan Wheldon). Tomas Scheckter finished a season-high third in the No. 2 Vision Racing car, while Danica Patrick posted her second consecutive fourth place in the No. 16 Rahal Letterman Racing Team Argent machine. Rookie Marco Andretti was fifth, followed by teammates Dario Franchitti and Bryan Herta.
