Rocketsports drivers Alex Tagliani and Nelson Philippe will celebrate the July fourth holiday with a top-three and top-ten finish respectively, in the Champ Car Grand Prix of Cleveland on Saturday evening source: champcarworldseries.com With steady driving and great maneuvers, the Rocketsports twosome raced through the field of 18 Champ Cars to significantly improved positions in Round Five of the Champ Car World Series. Tagliani scored his first podium of the season for Rocketsports Racing from a fifth-place start. Tagliani was bumped off-course in turn one, as he attempted to bolt to the head of the pack in the first of 97 race laps. Soon after, Tagliani found himself in the grass and running 16th. With determination and awesome teamwork, Tagliani gradually worked his way from the back of the field to a third-place finish. Tagliani is now in fourth place in the championship battle with 86 points. "I knew I had really quick car," admitted Tagliani. "The Ford-Cosworth engine was fast and I was expecting to race without incident, but didn't really have a great start after turn one/lap one, when Wilson touched me and I went into the grass. Then on the restart it was really slippery and I was loose on cold tires. I ended up in the grass and running last. "The Johnson Controls team helped me a lot with the strategy to work my way up, but we still didn't show the full potential of the No. 8 car. I caught a lot of traffic and was passing people and pushing really hard on cold tires, but the team brought me back to third place and made our day.
