Denver, after a planned deal between sponsor Centrix and Dover Motorsports to
organise and promote the event broke down.

Denis McGlynn, "However, Centrix has announced its intent to work together with
Open Wheel Racing Series.
"OWRS, in turn, has expressed an interest in acquiring from us certain assets
and rights to the event, and is working on a transaction that would allow the
event to continue under new ownership, with Centrix continuing as the title
sponsor."
Despite being linked to a possible move to the rival Indy Racing League, the
Denver event has stayed loyal to the new owners of the Champ Car World Series.
"It's a phenomenal deal for the community, because it saves an asset that a lot
of people enjoy," the event's general manager John Frew told the Denver Post
newspaper, "There are a lot of moving parts and an enormous amount of detail
involved.
